JUNEAU — Following a reported case of PSP in Haines, Alaska, DEC conducted tests on crabs in that area to determine levels of paralytic shellfish poison toxin. The tested crabs were collected following the reported illness. HAINES — John Michael Saunders, age 57 of Haines was found deceased at his residence on Mud Bay Road about 5:15 this morning. Only two days previous, Saunders had been medevaced to Juneau where he was diagnosed with Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (“PSP”) at Bartlett Regional Hospital. Saunders had been released and returned to Haines.
