Last Tuesday the Haines Borough Assembly met as a committee of the whole to consider legislative funding requests. One of the items on the list is a recreation/fitness center. Now, we think a fitness center is a good idea. But the borough can’t afford to implement every good idea. And not all such ideas turn out to be worthwhile investments.
